I. Lead - in

First, let's start with a simple discussion. I have two questions for you. The first one is:

What are some important items you receive before starting a new school year?

Student: I usually get new textbooks and stationery.

Teacher: Great answer! New textbooks and stationery are really essential. They help

us study new knowledge. And what about you, the girl with the ponytail?

Student: My parents always give me a new schoolbag.

Teacher: Wonderful! A new schoolbag can carry all our study materials. Now, the

second question: How do these items help you prepare for new challenges? The boy

in the blue shirt, can you have a try?

Student: New textbooks let us know what we will learn, and new stationery makes

me feel more motivated to study.

II. Vocabulary Teaching

Next, let's learn some key vocabulary words from the text. Words like "be yourself",

"problem", "try your best", and "work hard". Please take out your dictionaries and

look up their meanings. Then, I need some of you to give example sentences. The girl

IV. While - Reading

Step 4: Analyzing Dialogue through Role Play

Let's start with the dialogue in the text. First, read it carefully and analyze the

purpose behind Mia's parents giving her the paper boat. Then, I want two of you to

come to the front and perform a role - play. The two students in the first row, please.

understand the story.

Step 5: Skimming for General Understanding
